Chop Shop

At a recent Home Depot run, Maliya went to use the public restroom. As she moved around, I noticed her hair come dangerously close to the icky toilet. While I love Maliya's long, beautiful hair, we have a hard and fast rule: If your hair is long enough to get in the toilet it is TOO LONG!

The next day, I told Maliya that I was going to cut her hair. "Do you want it long or short?" I asked. "Long! Don't cut it!" She said over and over again. But, I cut it anyway. Here is the before:

And Rachel was jealous and wanted a picture, too. I trimmed her bangs, but was not about to try to trim that wriggly child's hair.This is how much I cut off of Maliya's hair. Holy Cow!

After I finished I had her look in the mirror. "See? It's still pretty long, right? Does that make you happy?" "No," she said "I wanted it short!" ...fickle women...
