This year has been a "Perfect Storm" for fires in Utah. We had a dry, mild winter, followed by a non-existent spring and an early, hot, dry summer. By late June, there had already been over 400 fires!
I knew of a fire in Saratoga Springs, and had seen the billowing smoke, but I was definitely surprised when I looked outside my front door to see...orange. Everything had an orange haze over it. I tried to capture it on film, but...these pictures don't really do it justice.
This last shot is a shot of the flames that we could see from our windows at night.
