Camping In Zion

We went camping in Zions National Park, last week, with the Tophams. It was really fun, but REALLY hot! We arrived Tuesday afternoon, and left on Thursday.
Maliya said she wanted to go rest in the tent. I told her not to get her dirty shoes in the tent. This was the only reasonable solution:

I always love seeing the cousins play so nicely together. It was super cute!

Grandpa with the youngsters.

On our way to hike Emerald Pools (just to the lower pool). Waiting at the bus stop, the kids loved walking along this little wall:

Rachel...is not much of a hiker...

It doesn't take her long to talk someone into carrying her.

With 9 kids under the age of 6, we took a lot of breaks in the shade.

Going through a little section of narrow:

Then and Now:
We hiked emerald pools 3 years ago. (We did all three, that time) And here is me trying to recreate some of the pictures from then:

On Wednesday afternoon, we all went and played in the Virgin River to help us cool down a little. The kids LOVED it and ended up even shivering! Brian lost his wedding ring during that event. Luckily it's not the first time he's lost one, and it turns out we have a spare! ;)
After a long hot day, Katie is just kickin back in a camping chair:

There's nothing like a blazing fire when it's a million degrees outside. Brian tried to roast hot dogs without suffering from a heat stroke...

Before taking off on Thursday, we hiked up to Weeping Rock. It was the shortest hike I've ever been on. But really cool! Unfortunately, my camera couldn't seem to capture any of it.

And here is Brian's GoPro documentation of the camping trip:
