The Retaining Wall Is IN!!!

We built a retaining wall in our front yard! It involved:

Stakes and strings, making sure things were straight and level:

A pick ax and a lot of digging:

 Filling in a base of gravel:

Some tamping down:

Lifting, moving, and fitting lots of heavy blocks:

And LOTS and LOTS of trying to get it all level!

 On the 4th, Brian's Dad and Dale both came over to help. The three of them got a LOT of work done, that day! It was REALLY impressive!

 Over the following week, Brian and his Dad finished the stairs, filled it in with dirt, closed up the wall and got capstones glued on.
