The girls were already very nervous about letting their parents go out on the water. Maliya would cry the whole time that Brian was out there: "Daddy's all done now!" And anytime he fell into the water, she would FLIP OUT! So, we were careful to distract them until Brian could climb in and get his 'owwie' covered up, so they never even saw it. Then he went to the ER without us.
He had a hard time keeping his body temperature up. He had 2 blankets and still felt cold! Poor guy!
After getting his skin 'trimmed' so it was a straight cut and not jagged, and then getting 3 stitches, they finished up the job with some nice glue!

Then, one evening, Maliya decided to take all the cushions off our living room couch, and use them as a trampoline path way. This fun and exciting game crashed to an end when Maliya's face met the entertainment center. Ouch!
Blood got everywhere! We had to restrain her arms and legs so that we would be able to keep pressure on the injury long enough to get it to stop bleeding. In the end, we couldn't decide if we needed to take her in for stitches or not. Luckily, we have an AWESOME family doctor, who--when we called to ask what he thought we should do--just swung by our house to take a look at it. He said it did need stitches, so he went down to the urgent care at his office with us
The stitching up process was pretty traumatic, as you can imagine. She was pretty scared by the whole thing, especially when he put that screen over he face so that she would not see him coming a her with a needle. When it was all over, I told her that the stitches were just a funny bandaid, which made her feel a little better about it. After all, what kid doesn't love having a bandaid on their owwie?
