SLEEP OVER!!!

Some friends of ours went to Lake Powell for a few days, and we watched their little girl for them while they were gone. Maliya was IN HEAVEN having a built in friend, 24/7 to play with! Kate was an angel for us, the only thing that made life more difficult for me, was not Kate, it was the fact that Maliya was so excited and hyper all of the time!Since it takes Maliya HOURS to fall asleep, I would put her to bed first, then wait until she was asleep to put Kate in the extra bed in her room. Then, when they woke up in the morning, and saw that they had a friend right there...there was INSTANT giggling, jumping on beds, etc.

Here, you can see that Maliya finished eating and went off to do her own thing. Kate (possibly the slowest eater in the world) just watched Maliya play while she finished her own meal.

One of their favorite games, was to take turns on the zebra, while the other one would hold on the handles and spin it around and around until one of both girls fell down! Then they would trade places. They could have played that game ALL DAY!

Kate has some special dietary needs, so in order to keep things straight and safe for everyone, I just put my kids on the same diet for that week. I think they enjoyed the change of pace.

It was fun having Kate here, but every time someone came to our door (including Brian, coming home from work), she would get excited and say "it's my mom!" I think she got a little bit more sad each time that it turned out not to be her mom. Needless to say, when her parents finally DID come for her, she was ready to go home.
