July: Second Half

Brian went to his service day at work with his friends:

Our neighbors are preparing to run a Spartan race, so they attached a rope to their pergola, so they can work on climbing up ropes. Instead, it mostly turned into a toy for kids. They have been LOVING climbing it and swinging from it.

Katie lost both her front teeth!
 Smores.
 The basment flooded!

 Splash pad fun...or...relaxing?
Rachel has been looking forward to the Pinewood Derbies that our ward does with the Achievement Days girls each spring ever since Maliya first turned 8 and got to do it. Now that she is finally old enough our ward split and the new ward doesn't do them. :(  But this ward did a Rain gutter Regatta, instead, which was also fun. The girls had a fun idea to mount their school pictures on their sails and draw pictures of all their favorite things on the tops of their boats. Very unique boats.

They counted up the number of wins and two girls tied for second place: Maliya and Rachel! So they had a tie breaker race!

Brian tried his 'foot' at the neighbors rip stick.

Maliya and Rachel got a surprise: They both got to do the next level of horse riding lessons for a week! And when Katie discovered that they had barn kittens to play with, we ended up spending all of horse riding lesson time there in the barn, playing with the cats.

We used some coupons we had to go to classic skating. It was during the day and it was pretty dead. Not a lot of other people there. The kids had fun trying to ride Hayden's bike,

trying to ride with FOUR roller blades instead of just TWO,

And trying to master other tricks.

We went to a neighborhood Pioneer Day party with fireworks, glow sticks, and treats.
And more and more time at the barn...

After two weeks of horse riding lessons...I think I need a refund...

Grandma and Grandpa came to town for another race: The Timpanogos Half Marathon. The neighbors have attached a tire swing to the rope, now, so Grandma hopped on to show the kids how it's done!

Another race, done!
Sunday morning and the kids are taking pictures of eachother.

Brian went to Scout Camp!

We had to run to Walmart, and Maliya and Rachel decided to buy some "Best Friends" jewelry for themselves to share.

I mowed the lawn for Brian, so that he would have time to take us all out to watch Incredibles 2 in the theatre when he got home from work. It was so. blinkin. hot.
