We got the chance to go visit DISNEY WORLD with the Myler/Hansen clan! So fun! The kids did AMAZING on the flight (considering our group had 17 kids, ranging from 9yrs-3mos!), and we were blessed to have, mostly, understanding and patient people sitting near us.
After the plane landed, we had to take a train, of sorts , over to baggage claim. As soon as the train stopped, Rachel came bolting over to me begging for my phone. I let her have it and she ran to the window to take a picture of THIS:
Apparently, the most beautiful fountain ever. Or maybe it was the gorgeous Florida landscape in general...
After we found our bags, we headed over to get some rental cars. Auntie Rachel directed some "exercising" to keep the kids busy.
Another fun fountain that Rachel got excited about...
That night, we all met in Grandma and Grandpa's room, at the hotel, for fruit, pizza, cake and ice-cream! It was super fun to hang out with everyone!
First day at the parks! Wednesday, we hit up the Animal Kingdom. The girls LOVED this "Adventure Scout" thing that they did. They had different tasks for the kids to do at various areas of the park and if they did them, then they could find a nearby worker to give them a "badge" (sticker) for it.
Grandpa and Grandma came with us for the first few hours. We got to go on the African Safari with them! It was super cool!
And Brian and Maliya and I went on one of the rides with Grandpa, Kyle and Heather, while Grandma took the littler kids to the playground area. Maliya opted to ride with Grandpa, Kyle and Heather.
We got to see some cool tigers. Katie was really offended that we couldn't go in there and get a closer look... :/
Honestly, the girls favorite part of that day: dancing with the "Indian Princesses." They danced with these ladies for over 20 MINUTES!!! Other kids would come, dance for a few minutes, and leave. But our girls just danced and danced.
Thursday, we started out at Epcot. We got one ride in before we were supposed to do a big family group picture. Our kids loved that picture-taking experience (could you hear the sarcasm in my voice?). They felt like they were melting in the humid Florida heat (even though it was only in the 70's) and their eyes were burning in the bright Florida sun.
After that, we tried to hit a couple more rides, but the wait times were so ridiculous! We're talking 70-80 minutes! It's November! And it was mid-week! What was everyone doing there?
While Brian took the older girls on Soarin', I took Katie on Finding Nemo. She enjoyed the ride (and the ice-cream I gave her to eat while we waited in line). At the end of the ride they had a huge, awesome aquarium with a dolphin, sting ray, and many other awesome things. We didn't look at all of it, because Hayden was asleep in my arms and that kid is a chunk and my arms were about to fall off. :) But, what we did see of it, was pretty cool.
Still waiting for them to get back from Soarin'...
Then, we headed over to Hollywood Studios. That was a fun park. If I were to do Disney World again, I would totally skip Epcot, spend only a half day at Animal Kingdom, and spend the rest of the time at Hollywood Studios and the Magic Kingdom.
Sadly, the Rockin' Rollercoaster was broken. But Brian took Maliya and Rachel on the Tower of Terror (which they found VERY upsetting. It took Rachel a few days to recover from THAT), and then we went over to Star Tours. Star Tours was a lot of fun.
Some awesome souvenirs the girls found...
Then we went to the live show: Frozen's Let It Go sing-a-long. HUGE. HIT.
The whole show was highly entertaining and the kids LOVED singing along with all the songs. Best of all, was Elsa's appearance, at the end, with an encore of Let It Go with "REAL" snow falling on the audience! SO. AWESOME!
Friday was the Magic Kingdom (basically, Disneyland).
Katie, waiting in line for her FIRST ROLLERCOASTER! She was really excited!
And then...
And then a little smile at the end. :)
When we got back to the group, she told her older sisters that the ride was "fun...and a little scary." :) She was so cute!
Saturday morning, most of the group went swimming at the hotel pool, with us. It was fun to take it easy and just enjoy eachother's company after 3 crazy days of theme parks. Then we rushed to do a little laundry and get off to the airport. We actually had to check out before our laundry was dry, so we were chillin' in the laundry room for a little while...
Waiting for the flight home...
Such a fun trip! It was wonderful to spend time with loved ones!
